Overview

The System Configuration Menu contains the core settings that affect the basic operations of Orion. Its menus are extremely powerful and usually affect system-wide changes.  

If this is your first time using Orion, these are the first settings that you should configure.

Function Key 

Description

F1 - Company Setup 

Store basic company information, such as:

  • Activation code

  • Company name

  • Address

  • UPS Shipper ID

  • Resale ID 

F2 - Printing Defaults 

Configure the default printer settings, such as:

  • Default number of invoice copies to print

  • Enable or disable invoice preview at order entry

  • Price label settings

F3 - Sales Tax Maintenance 

Set up and maintain sales tax codes

F4 - Employee Maintenance 

Create and manage salespeople and employees as well as users tied to Orion’s security features

F6 - System Preferences 

Define basic preferences used throughout Orion, such as:

  • Inventory markup percentages

  • Shipping

  • Security features

  • Finance charges

  • Default message on purchase orders

F7 - Invoice/Sales Order Setup 

Designate the default message on invoices and sales orders and define the default shipping method on sales orders

F8 - New Account Source Tracking 

Set up sources to track where customers come from

F9 - Account Class Codes 

Create account classes and subclasses that can be assigned to customers to better categorize them

1 - Shop Departments 

Set up departments in your shop

2 - Event Codes 

Create event codes that can be used to track sales history at different racing events

3 - Load Logos 

Upload logo files for documents and price labels

4 - XCharge Configuration 

Configure options for XCharge integrated credit card processing

7 - Motor State Purchasing Integration 

Configure purchasing integration with Motor State
